Octavius D. Gonzaga, “Tav” for short, joined Waikiki Health as Chief Financial Officer in December of 2019. Tav’s achievements include 27 years in Health Care Management, eight years in Hospital Financial Management and 13 years with Community Health Centers. Most recently Tav served as Budget Director for Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Tav graduated from California State University Stanislaus, earning a B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Asked about the secret to achieving success, Tav offers, “Basically know what you can do, and know your limits. If you’re going to be at this level (management), you need to be open to criticism and suggestions. To be a good manager, let your people do their job.” One of his key management practices: “I’m a cheerleader. I support my department.”
