Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Operations Planning

Waikiki Health may play a variety of roles in responding to disasters including providing emergency medical care, providing temporary shelter, or expanding primary care services to meet increased community needs, perhaps worsened by damage to other health facilities. We may also provide expanded mental health services to disaster victims, and disseminate information to affected communities. Waikiki Health is not equipped to respond definitively to all disasters; and our roles in disaster response may be constrained by limited resources and technical capability, and by the impact of the disaster on our facilities.

The purpose of disaster preparedness, and the Waikiki Health Emergency Operations Plan, is to improve our ability to provide timely, integrated, and coordinated responses to community disasters and public health emergencies.
