Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician.
Pay rate for this role is $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule: Monday – Saturday; 40-hour work week.

Qualifications and abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of pharmacy technician program or one year of work experience as a retail pharmacy technician preferred.
• Familiarity with pharmacy law and industry/technical terms and process preferred.
• Knowledge of brand and generic drugs by name preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, community members, and staff .
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work with multi-ethnic and multi-cultural staff and clients.

General Duties include but are not limited to

• Assist in the processing, preparation and dispensing of prescriptions and medication orders.
• Assist in the inventory process of maintaining medications, supplies and retail merchandise at ideal levels.
• Perform sales transactions and provide patients with information related to their medications, drug insurance and other health care related services.
• Process third-party insurance claims and other pharmacy billing and cash management functions including resolving insurance issues.
• Perform other tasks and participate in special projects the pharmacy is involved in.
