Community Health Worker (Part-time)

Waikiki Health is seeking a part-time Community Health Worker.
Pay rate for this role is $22.00 per hour.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 20-hour work week

The Community Health Worker is responsible for ensuring the Youth Outreach (YO!) Clinic operates smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • College degree required or commensurate experience in a health-related field.
  • Must have experience or education in health or social services procedures and/or at least 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Certified Community Health Worker preferred or willingness to be trained.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth or those experiencing homelessness preferred.
  • Must be organized and able to complete all assigned tasks.
  • Hawaii driver’s license with clean 5-year loss from their car insurance.

General duties include but not limited to:

  • Be present during drop-in hours to build rapport, talk story, and assist youth with their needs.
  • Function as a part of a multidisciplinary team, which includes other Waikiki Health staff and partner agency Hale Kipa staff.
  • Assists medical, behavioral, and dental health providers at the YO! Clinic.
  • Chart and document service encounters in a matter that is unbiased and maintains patient dignity.
  • Provide youth with insurance navigation services, including but not limited to the application process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
