Waikiki Health is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist
Pay rate for this role is $46/hour
Schedule: 2-3 full days/week

Under the direction of a provider and/or director, the Dental Hygienist will assist and support the dentist in providing care and treatment of patients by taking radiographs when needed, periodontal probing and charting of soft tissue, providing oral prophylaxis, periodontal therapy and educating patients. The hygienist will also be expected to aid in maintaining dental instruments, equipment, and operatories when needed.

Qualifications and abilities:

• Successful completion of a dental hygiene associate’s degree or higher from an institution accredited by the American Dental Association.
• Current State of Hawaii Dental Hygiene license required as well as the current continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, community members, and staff members.
• Proficient in computer skills: typing, navigating through the internet and emails.
• OSHA training.
• CPR certified.

General duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepares patients for treatment and maintains a steady patient flow Sets up operatories for procedure and breaks down operatories after patient treatment is completed.
• Reviews patient health history, takes vital signs if deemed necessary, documents in patient record, and assures completion of forms and signatures.
• Completes and follows up on patient referral forms.
• Sterilizes, prepares, and maintains dental instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Takes preliminary impressions of patients’ teeth and pour models and trim casts when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
