Dr. Sattelmacher joined Waikiki Health’s primary care team in September 2013. He earned his Medical Degree in 2007 at the Georg-August-University in Goettingen, Germany; and graduated magna cum laude with a Doktor der Medizin (Ph.D. equivalent) from the Medical Microbiology Institute in Goettingen. His post-graduate training was in Internal Medicine through the University of Hawaii Residency Program in Honolulu. From 2011 to 2013 he conducted a cardiovascular study at the University’s Center for Cardiovascular Research of the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Prior work experience includes serving as a junior doctor at the Auguste-Victoria-Klinikum in Berlin. Dr. Sattelmacher’s volunteer and student activities took him to many countries. He participated in an intercultural exchange/lingual studies program in South America; helped to protect Leatherback turtle nesting areas in Crete, Greece; and served as a student assistant on agricultural expeditions throughout West Africa and the Central Sahara. He speaks German, English and Spanish.
