Kent administers six Waikiki Health programs: Ryan White Comprehensive HIV Services; Statewide HIV/HCV Early Intervention Services (community education, testing and case management program); PATH Clinic (women’s health specialty clinic); Family Planning Services; Youth Outreach (YO), our drop-in medical and social support program; and Friendly Neighbors. His duties include oversight of program operations, contract compliance, fiscal management, partnership development, public education, outreach services, advocacy, facilities and team building.
He joined Waikiki Health with over 15 years of managerial experience. Positions held include: Executive Director, Hawaii Autism Foundation; Housing Development Director for the Diocese of Honolulu; Executive Director, Family Promise of Hawaii; Business Advisor, U.S. Peace Corps, Kingdom of Tonga; Legislative Aide/Intern for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
Kent served in a number of homelessness-related coalitions and task forces. He was a member of the AUW Homelessness/Poverty Prevention Task Force; served as Chair of Partners in Care, Oahu’s coalition of homeless providers; and coordinated Oahu’s 100,000 Homes Registry Week, lauded as one of the best nationally (2012). He also served on the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawaii Board of Directors; was a Weinberg Fellow (2008), and member of the AUW Society of Young Leaders (2008-12). Additionally, he has been a guest speaker at national conferences for program development, community building and mentoring.
Kent received B.A. degrees in Entrepreneurship/Business Administration and in Political Science from Florida State University.
