Next Step Shelter

Donations to the Next Step Shelter support couples and individuals during their stay at the shelter and upon moving into permanent housing. By donating any of the following items, you are helping transform lives in our community.

New and gently-used items are appreciated

Most Needed:

  • Monetary donations (donate here)
  • Gift cards
  • Recycle cans/bottles
  • Air mattresses
  • 20 gallon or larger bins with lids
  • Hygiene goods (bath soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush & tooth paste, disposable razors, shaving gel/cream, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, toilet tissue, laundry detergent, paper towel, etc.)
  • Non-perishable, non expired foods (coffee, sugar, creamer, rice, cup of noodles, spam, sausage, sardine/tuna, cereal, fruit bars, milk, juice, snacks, etc.)
  • Household items (paper plates/bowls, disposable utensils, foil pans, plastic/foil wraps, paper cups, large trash bags, ziploc bags, latex gloves, band-aides, ointment, cleaning supplies, etc.)

Limited Needs:

  • Blankets, sheets, pillows, towels
  • New or very gently used clothing, shoes, socks and slippers (no shoes with spikes, please)
  • Household items (can openers, microwave)


  • Hazardous waste materials and chemicals
  • Automobile parts (tires, batteries, etc.)
  • Major appliance (refrigerator, TV, stoves)
  • Furniture (office/home desks, cabinets, sofas, tables, box spring beds, futons, lawn chairs, carpets)
  • Kitchen products (dishes, pot/pans, metal utensils)
  • Computers, monitors, printers
  • Medical (crutches, medicines of any kind)
  • Used toys, play guns/swords, doll houses, skateboards, bicycles, bats, stuff animals, toys with lots of pieces, puzzles
