Bob Gentry’s professional career was dedicated to education, including his 28-year service as Associate Dean of Students at the University of California, Irvine. He earned his M.A. Degree in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University, and B.A. Degree in Psychology/Sociology from Hanover College.

Bob was elected to three terms as Mayor of Laguna Beach, California; he also was Board Chair of the Orange County HIV Planning Council, Chair of the Environmental Quality Committee for the California League of Cities, and Board member of the Southern California Association of Governments.

His many honors include being named Volunteer of the Year by the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii in both 2006 and 2007; and Man of the Year by Christopher Street West, Los Angeles. He was cited for Outstanding Service by the University of California, Irvine, and Southern California Association of Governments; and received commendations from human relations and conservation organizations.

Bob is currently the Chair of Human Resources. He served as President of Waikiki Health’s Board of Directors from 2010-2011 and 2013-2013. He has served as Chair of the Governance Committee; and chaired and continues to be a member of the Marketing & Development Committee. He serves on Waikiki Health’s Board because he is committed to community service.
