Kaiwi was born and raised in Kohala, Hawaii and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools at Kapalama. He majored in Biology at Brigham Young University and served a two-year, Tagalog-speaking LDS mission in Manila, Philippines. He was a board member at Hamakua Health on the Big Island, and has worked for a variety of non-profits, including Waikiki Health, where he won the organization’s “Patient Centered Award” in 2013.
Kaiwi is the Vice President of Kahala Aesthetica, a locally-owned multimedia and digital design firm. He also works for a non-profit, Legacy of Life Hawaii, which is dedicated to saving and healing lives through organ, tissue and eye donation.
Kaiwi is passionate about fitness and enjoys surfing, yoga and running. He completed two half-marathons in 2016. He is also interested in personal development and is a member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals and Aloha United Way’s Society of Young Leaders.
